Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at 1 Bond Street, from where we'll set off by minibus, on a comprehensive tour of Newcastle. Let's go!
First up on our itinerary is a visit to Fort Scratchley, where we'll enjoy stunning views of the city's coastline. This fort played a vital role in World War II, and we'll learn why, along with many more fun facts, alongside our local guide!
From here, we'll head over to Christ Church Cathedral, a prime example of Newcastle's architectural heritage. We'll admire its facade, with its intricate Gothic-style architecture and exquisite stained-glassed windows, as our guide shares more about its history.
Next up, we'll head over to Bogey Hole, a natural ocean pool carved into the rocks. Originally hand-hewn to serve as a military commander's private bathing pool, it opened up to the public years later. Here, we'll take a moment to stroll around the surrounding area, soaking up the coastal views and bright turquoise waters of the natural pool.
Following along on our route, we'll head to ANZAC Memorial Walk, to learn about Australia's long military history. Then, we'll reach our final stop of the day at Hickson Street lookout point. We'll pause here to appreciate the sweeping coastal panoramas before us, creating long-lasting memories.
Then, with the sound of crashing waves still echoing in our ears, we'll head back to the meeting point, bringing the tour to an end about 3 hours later.
